We’re excited to announce the re-launch of ALIGN’s Journal for fall 2023. This peer-reviewed journal welcomes submissions from students, academics, service providers the community and all areas of child and family services work. The goals of the Journal are to advance academic and best practices understanding, and to question and inform policy and practice.

The ALIGN Journal for Services to Children and Families Fall 2023 – Special Edition, Child welfare post-pandemic, is intended to be a forum for significant, critical and serious inquiry into issues related to the work of the agencies – children, youth, families, organizations, leadership and wellness. We want to bring research and evidence-informed practice to the members.

Our goal is to give strategies, suggestions and support in terms of creative and innovative ways for agencies and workers to develop a culture of evidence-informed practice. Our mission is to bring professionals together to advance the knowledge pertaining to the continuum of services for children, youth and families.

The types of articles accepted for the Journal are: Original research or evaluation; innovation in program development; policy and practice reviews; book or article reviews; conference reviews or updates, examples from the field (case studies), and Op-Ed (strong, informed and focused opinion of the writer on a relevant issues). We also will accept art, poetry and works from children and youth as it relates to their experiences. Our primary interest is providing members with a varied and rich source of material to consider. All articles submitted for publication will be reviewed by an editorial committee prior to a decision on publication. A blind review process will be used. The author will be notified if changes are required and if or when their article will be published.

Submissions should not be longer than 2000 words, APA compliant, well researched and cited. If the article has been published in other sources you must have permission to have the article published again. The editorial committee reserves the right to alter the articles for aesthetic purposes.
